Confused Lady
While I am on the phone to [info]briseis (in my room), the phone downstairs rings. I tell Bri I would be back in a sec and run downstairs to catch the call before the answering machine starts.
I pick up the receiver: Yes?
Confused Lady: Hello, I called last week.
Me: Ah, ok. What are you calling for?
Confused Lady: I am from the Car Repair 'blahblahblah' (can't remember the name) and your car was here a few weeks ago. I called last week.
Me: I don't have a car.
Confused Lady: Oh, am I at the wrong place there?
Me: I don't know. Who did you want to reach?
Confused Lady: Herrn Engelmann.
Me: You're at the right place, but he's asleep right now.
Confused Lady: Is he available then?
Me: No, he's asleep. Taking a nap.
Confused Lady: Is he available next Monday then?
Me: He is going to be available in an hour.
Confused Lady: I won't be here anymore then. But I will call next Monday, thanks. and she hangs up.

I don't know what about this conversation amused me so, but this person seemed so generally without a plan.

(Oh, I should probably add that Peter Engelmann is my stepfather)

What a fruitcake way to introduce yourself. Odd car-reception-person!

She was the oddest person I have talked to on the phone since the 'is Aaron there?'-lady.

Hehe... das geht so schnell. Ich finde das noch viel schlimmer wenn man Deutsche Worte im Englischen Text hat und die aus Versehen mit Englischem Akzent liest... O_o

Yay for idiotic people on the phone, life would be boring without them.

Hehe... I used to get phonecalls by a random woman asking if Aaron was there several times over a year. I would tell her each time that she had the wrong number.
To this day I am ever so slightly suspicious there's an invisible Aaron living in this house.
